I go to lots of weddings. Duh. It's my job. But I still love the excitement and emotion. I love that I get to be a part of the VIP that sees the ins and outs of the day. And often I am touched by what I get to see and experience at a wedding. But I never cry. I sometimes get misty eyed, but never has a tear left my eye. Until this wedding. Go about a dozen photos down and I'll explain.

The photo above will always be held in portfolio as a gem. Because it's the first moment at a wedding that made me cry. And here is why. The bride & groom hired their favorite artist, Drew Kennedy, to play a set of songs during their happy hour. Like, the grooms most favorite artist ever. They go to a music festival in New Mexico to see him every year. And as I was hopping around on the rooftop taking detail shots after the ceremony, I heard Drew announce to the group to head upstairs from the happy hour to enjoy dinner. So, naturally, I ran down to touch base with my bride and groom.

And this is what I walked in to. Drew Kennedy playing a private song for them, and Leah & Brandon sharing their first dance together. Just the two (well three) of them having a moment, enjoying each other with no pomp and pageantry, no show, just a moment of pure love. It was impromptu, not on the schedule, and completely the most loving and meaningful moment I have ever captured at a wedding.
