Ryan and I often talk about how special it is that our job intersects with some of the most important life moments of our clients. Sometimes when I am in the middle of shooting a wedding I tend to get hung up on my mental checklist of what we have and haven't shot, what time it is, if we are going to get to have a vendor meal so that I don't pass out, etc. I'm sure a lot of people to have ever planned, or helped plan a wedding know the feeling! But one of the things that was so wonderful about Kara & Andrew's wedding day is that they did a lot of really special little things that made me stop and remember the significance of what we were getting to capture. Walking down the aisle Kara carried a Bible that her mother and grandmother had both carried on their wedding day. She had 3 pink roses in her bouquet because for every Valentine's day her father always gives her 3 pink roses. All four of the parents stood at the alter to give their children to one another. Kara recorded a song as a surprise for her father that they danced to for their first dance. My. Heart. Bursts.
