So I'm a complete scrooge this year. We have been so crazy around these parts that I am refusing to decorate for Christmas. Usually there are garlands on every surface, a stocking for everyone in the household including the dog, I change out the curtains to match the tree, and DON'T EAT THOSE BERRIES IN THAT BOWL-- they're not real! The first year that we were married I spent every last penny of our budget on strings of lights, and fancy glass ornaments to adorn every object in my house that was remotely hollowed out. Last year I even made a stop motion Christmas video. Should I be embarrassed by that? Probably.
But she-who-can-not-say-no-to-anything (that's me), has filled up all of our extra time with holiday parties and last minute shoots. Which I love and makes me happy. But doesn't leave me much time for decorating the house...or cleaning the house...or sleeping. And the thought of decorating (which also means I would have to clean the house) and then having to undecorate only weeks later really stressed me out. So I made the executive decision to just let it go this year. And I was completely ok with that. Until all the houses around us started to be dressed up in illuminated orbs that gave them an every so cheery disposition. Dang you neighbors.
So, in order to make myself feel better, I went to my favorite local flower shop and bought some stems to make an arrangement. There you have it folks, my Christmas decor for this year. And YES we are putting presents around it:
